Funeral services for Mrs. Angeline N. Moore, 84, of Danville, who died at her home on Cool Springs Road, Thursday, September 5, 2013, will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 7, 2013, in El Sharath Baptist Church. Entombment will be in church cemetery. Mrs. Moore was born in Macon, the daughter of the late Idus Newby, Sr. and Nomie Bell Floyd Newby. She was a graduate of Danville High School and of Georgia College, with a bachelor's degree in education. After finishing her education, she taught for a while at Bleckley County Elementary School. She then became one of the first female rural mail carriers out of the Cochran Georgia Post Office. She was preceeded in death by her brother Ben Hill Newby. She was a member of the Hawkinsville Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution and of the John Aiden Chapter of the Colonial Dames of the Seventeenth Century. She was also an active member of the El Sharath Baptist Church in rural Twiggs County, where she was a long time Sunday School teacher, editor of the church bulletin, and especially proud of her role in the successful, long-term effort to beautify the church and improve its physical facilities. Her hobbies, especially in her later years, were painting, sewing, quilting, working in her yards, loving her flowers, and especially researching the genealogies of the Moore and the Newby families. Mrs. Moore is survived by her husband of 65 years, Jessie W. "Bud" Moore; by her children, Nancy and Billy Hill, Cochran, Miriam and Jon Bryant, Statesboro, Jeannie and Terry Hill, Cochran, and Jessica and Stephen Panek, Cochran; grandchildren Chris Hill, Naomi Bryant, Ellie Bryant, Alex Bryant, Angelynne Johnson, Isabelle Panek, and Aiden Panek; and great-grandchildren, Caleb Hill and Addison Hill. She is also survived by brother, Idus Newby, Cochran and sisters,Virginia Jones, Winston Salem, NC, and Ouida Smith, Cochran. The family request that in lieu of flowers donations be made to El Sharath Cemetery Trust Fund, El Sharath Baptist Church or favorite charity. Family will greet friends from 7:00 pm. until 9:00 p.m. Friday, September 6, 2013, at the funeral home.
