Funeral services for Asa W. Nobles, 89, of Nobles Road, Danville, who died Sunday, July 28, 2013 in Bleckley Memorial Hospital, will be held Tuesday, July 30, at 2 P.M. in Cool Springs Primitive Baptist Church with Elder Calvin Watkins and Elder Wesley Watkins officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Mr. Nobles a life-long resident of Bleckley County, son of the late William H. and Elizabeth Bloodworth Nobles and the widower of Betty Fowler Nobles. He was one of the oldest members of Cool Springs Primitive Baptist Church and a retired farmer. He was an avid sportsman and member of the Washington County and Wilkinson County Hunting Clubs. Survivors include daughters: Polly Ann (Tommy) Hilburn of Peach County, Betty Jane (Kenny) Bates of Danville; sons, Everett (Philiper) Nobles, James (Angela) Nobles, both of Cochran and Robert Nobles of Danville; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. The family will be at the Nobles residence, Nobles Road, Danville. Visitation will be Monday, July 29, from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
