Funeral services for Barbara Faye Scarboro, 72, of Chester, who died Saturday, August 13, 2016 at her residence, will be Monday, August 15, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. in Rowland Chapel Church of the Nazarene. Burial will be in Mullis Cemetery. Born in Laurens County, she was the daughter of the late J. W. Hendrix and Lois Jane Johnson Hendrix Rutherford. She was a member of Rowland Chapel Church of the Nazarene for over 30 years where she was the former head of the Ladies Ministry. She was preceded in death by her son, Jimmie Wallace Carr, Jr., husbands, Ernest Dempsey and Don Scarboro, and grandson, Don Gino Young, Jr. Survivors include daughter, Regina (Don) Carr Young of Rentz, son, Kevin (Suzie) Carr; sister, Joeann (Paul) Lehnert of Chester and Betty Joyce (Jim Henry) Johnson of Macon, step-brother, Bobby (Sue) Rutherford of Cochran, grandchildren, Tabatha (Tim) White of Plainfield, Colby Carr and Abbie Carr, both of Cochran, and great-grandchildren, Kayli Young of Dublin, Trew White, Taylin White, and Gage White all of Plainfield. The family will be at the Scarboro residence on Old Rebie Road in Chester and will meet friends following the service at the church.
