Funeral services for Edward "Cotton" Mullis 83, of Panama City, Florida, will be held Thursday, May 30, 2019 at 10:00 A.M. in the Chapel of Fisher Funeral Home. Cotton passed away peacefully Saturday, May 25, 2019 with his loving wife by his side. Cotton was a resident of Chester, Ga. before moving to Panama City, Florida in 2017. He was the son of the late Joseph Bunion and Inamae Dykes Mullis. He retired from Warner Robins Air Force Base and the Dodge State Prison. Cotton served in the United States Army where he received the National Defense Service Medal. He loved both hunting and fishing but will be most remembered for his bird dogs and card playing skills. Cotton’s first wife Rita Mullis and five siblings preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife, Patricia Legg Mullis of Panama City Fl.; two sons, Edward Mullis of Lagrange Ga. and Wayne Mullis of Chester Ga.; daughter, Lisa Powell of Dodge County, Ga.; Two step Children, Phillip B. Harden Jr. of Heflin Ala. and April Herndon of Santa Rosa Beach Fla.; five grandchildren, Colin Mullis, Eric Mullis, Jacob Powell, Rebecca Powell and Savannah Herndon and 3 great grandchildren. The family will meet friends Wednesday night 6 until 8 in the Chapel of Fisher Funeral Home.
