Sheriff Harold Lancaster

Funeral services for Sheriff, Harold Lancaster 64, of Cochran, who died Friday, August 30, 2019 at home will be held Monday, September 2, 2019 at 3 P.M. in the Chapel of Fisher Funeral Home. Burial will be in Lancaster cemetery in Dodge County. Bishop Robert Aschroft will be conducting the service. Harold was born in Pulaski County the son of the late Omar and Mamie Pierce Lancaster and was the widower of the late Jeannie Moore Lancaster. He graduated from both Hawkinsville High School and Middle Georgia College. He was a former Hawkinsville police officer, deputy sheriff with both Pulaski and Houston Counties and was a Georgia State Patrol officer. After serving as a State Patrolman Harold was elected Sheriff of Bleckley County where he served the citizens of Bleckley County for 16 years. He was past President of the Cochran Rotary Club, a member of the Georgia Sheriff Association and a Mason of Cochran Lodge 217. Along with serving the community for his entire career Harold was always a Cattle Farmer. His survivors are: Two sons, Adam (Jessica) Lancaster of Tampa Fl., Brandon (Katie) Lancaster of Hawaii; two daughters, Jessica Medus of Missouri and Samantha Stephens of Washington D.C.; Sister Fay (Ron) Thompson of Cochran; eight grandchildren ; several nieces and nephews.
