Mrs. Joyce Belflower Goolsby

April 17, 1944 - October 23, 2021

Funeral services for Joyce Belflower Goolsby, who passed away peacefully at home after a brief illness on Saturday, October 23, 2021, will be held Wednesday, October 27, 2021 at 2pm in Roddy Baptist Church. Burial will be private in Roddy Community Cemetery. Joyce was born to the late Clarence and Rosa Belflower and had lived most of her life in Roddy. She was a 1962 graduate of Dodge County High School and a graduate of MCCG School of Radiological Technology. She was the first X-ray technician at Bleckley Memorial Hospital. She loved her work and retired after 45 years of service in X-ray and mammography. Joyce was a doting Aunt to her many nieces and nephews and a friend whenever needed. Joyce was a member of Roddy Baptist Church, and even though in later years she was unable to attend, she was diligent in her daily devotion thru bible study. She was also a member of Eastern Star 217, Red Hat Society, and the American Society of Radiological Technologist. She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years Charles; sister, Jane Belflower Boyd; brothers, Jr. Belflower and Billy Belflower; niece, Tabitha Belflower Rickerson; sister-in-law, Sandy Campbell Belflower. Left to cherish her memory is her brother, Kelly (Deborah) Belflower of Roddy; brother-in-law, John Boyd of Oxford; sister-in-law, Maxine Belflower of Roddy; nephews, Corbit Belflower of Roddy, Billy Belflower of Eastman, Bryan (Jasmine) Belflower of Beaufort, SC, Bob (Amy) Rickerson of Cary; nieces, Jennifer (Steve) Miller of Watkinsville, Julie (Joe) Prunty of Oxford, Tori Belflower of Roddy, Lena (Dustin) White of Dublin; great nephews, Slawson Wilson of Oxford, Ty Belflower of Atlanta, Crawford Miller of Boone, NC, Cooper Belflower of Roddy; great nieces, Savannah Wilson of Oxford, Ella Jane Miller of Rome, Clara Rickerson of Cary, Willow and Violet Belflower both of Beaufort, SC. The family will greet friends after the service Wednesday at Roddy Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Roddy Cemetery Fund, c/o Kelly Belflower 2690 Roddy Hwy, Cochran, GA 31014.
