Graveside services for Lorene Dupree, 98, of Cochran, who died Thursday, March 9, 2017, surrounded by her family, will be held Saturday, March 11, 2017 at 2 p.m. in Cedar Hill Cemetery with Rev. Ken Brooks officiating. Born in Dodge County on October 7, 1918, to the late James H. and Emmie Fordham Davis, she was the widow of Harley Dupree. She was a graduate of Eastman High School and Middle Georgia College. She worked alongside her devoted husband for many years at the family-owned restaurant, The Grill. She later worked and retired from Robins Air Force Base and was a longtime member of Cochran First Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Stacy Lynn Padgett; three brothers, Buddy, Sammie, and Bobby Davis; and four sisters, Lucille Parker, Alice Wright, Grace Revel, and Blanche Coody. She is survived by her son, Steve (Connie) Dupree and daughter, Janice (Billy) Padgett, both of Cochran; grandsons, Derek (Margaret) Padgett and Todd (Shanna) Dupree of Cochran and Johnny Mackey of Abu Dhabi, UAE; granddaughter, Heather (Hunter) Moody of Killen, Al; great-granddaughters, Lauren (Brooks) Gray of Cochran and Natalie Mackey of Rogers, AR, Ramsey Marie Moody of Killen, AL; great-grandsons, Tyler Padgett and Caden Dupree of Cochran, and Ridge Moody of Killen, AL; great-great-granddaughters, Makenly and Emmy Gray of Cochran and her one remaining sibling, her devoted sister, Evelyn Teasley of Warner Robins. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Serenity Hospice, 520 Hillcrest Pkwy., Dublin, Ga. 31021. The family will be at the residence of Mr. & Mrs. Padgett on 9th Street Terrace and will meet friends following the service at graveside.
