Louise R. Giddens, age 85, passed away Sunday, May 27, 2018, at home surrounded by her family. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, May 30, 2018, at Macedonia Baptist Church with visitation an hour before the service. Burial will be in Macedonia Cemetery. Rev. Daniel Cook and Rev. Brad Dowdy will officiate. Louise was born in Oglethorpe, Georgia. After high school, she graduated from the Georgia-Alabama Business College in Macon. She was a resident of Cochran where she was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church and retired after 30 years as a bookkeeper for the Bleckley County School system. Her greatest joys were her faith and her family. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, who was affectionately known as "Mimi". She had a strong Christian faith and placed her life in the Lord's hands. She also had a special passion for cooking and gardening. She was known for her "green thumb" and especially enjoyed being outdoors tending the many varieties of blueberries she grew each year. She was preceded in death by her husband, William R. Giddens of Cochran; mother, Kathleen G. Robinson; father and step-mother, Henry and Lillian Robinson of Oglethorpe ; brothers and sisters; Jack Robinson and Betty Long of Palatka, FL; and Bennie Robinson and Margie Parks of Oglethorpe. Survivors include three children; Deborah (David) Sawyer of Cochran, Ray Giddens of Cochran, Mark (Gay) Giddens of Powder Springs; three grandchildren, Lauren (Tim) Griffeth of Watkinsville, Heather (David) Richards of Winterhaven, FL, Chelsea (Colby) Kitchens of Richmond Hill; three great-grandchildren, Tanner and Lillian Griffeth of Watkinsville and Eli Richards of Winterhaven, FL; brothers, Ted (Mary Lynn) Robinson of Oglethorpe and Mike (Sarah) Robinson of Ellaville; sisters, Cheryl (Buddy) Justice of Statesboro, and Patti (Darren) Player of Oglethorpe; as well as many beloved nieces and nephews, and also special caregivers; Sharon Lawson, Vivian Jones, and Dolores Jackson.
