Opal J. Rowland Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Funeral Services for Opal J. Rowland, 81, of Chester who died Sunday, August 7, 2016, at Serenity Place in Dublin, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 9, 2016, in the chapel of Fisher Funeral Home. Burial will be in Rowland Cemetery. Born in Dodge County, the daughter of the late Perry Rowland, Theo Oxley, and Irene Minter Rowland Oxley and the widow of Aaron Rowland, she attended Sweet Home Primitive Baptist Church. She was retired from Dodge County School System Food Service having worked in Chester and North Dodge. She was also a homemaker. Survivors include her children, Glinda Cranford of Chester and Perry (Rhonda) Rowland of Dudley; grandchildren, Maria (Blake) Simpson of Eastman, Beth (Jamie) Wilkins of Cochran, Jenni (Zach) Blackmon of Dothan, AL, and Paul Cranford of Chester; great-grandchildren, J.W. and A.J. Simpson, Millie & Josie Wilkins, and Emma and Maddie Blackmon; sisters, Grace (J.W.) Maddox of Cochran, Joyce (Bobby) Cannon of Chester, Faye Rowland of Cochran, Betty (Wayne) Rogers of Chester, Carolyn (Bob) Rozar and JoAnn Lucas both of Cochran; and several nieces and nephews. The family will at the Rowland residence on Old Rebie Road in Chester and will meet friends from 6 to 8 P.M. on Monday at Fisher Funeral Home.
