Funeral services for Ruthie Mae Skipper, 95, of Cochran, who passed away Friday, January 29, 2021, at her residence, will be held Tuesday, February 2, 2021, at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of Fisher Funeral Home. Rev. Jay Moore and Rev. Robbie Passmore will be officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Ruthie Mae was born in Bleckley County and was the daughter of the late Cary Lucas and Mollie Mae Hart Lucas, and was the widow of Bill Skipper. She was a graduate of Cochran High School, Class of 1943, and was retired from L & H Shirt Co. She attended Southside Baptist Church and Cochran First Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by five brothers and two sisters. Survivors are her two daughters, Sue (Billy Ray) Phillips of Cochran and Gail (Richard) Schuman of Fayetteville Ga.; grandchildren, Staci (Eric) Bisher of Cochran, Chris (Shannon) Phillips of McDonough, Brian (Jennifer) Goodson of Newnan, Scott (Angie) Schuman of Potomac MD, Ryan Schuman of Franklin TN; six great-grandchildren; sister, Eva Mullikin and sister-in-law, Estelle Lucas both of Cochran. The family will meet friends following the service in the Chapel of Fisher Funeral Home and will be at the residence of Sue and Billy Ray Phillips, S. 7th St., Cochran.
