Virginia Stephens Smith

November 16, 1937 - February 6, 2016

A visitation celebrating the life of Virginia Stephens Reeves Smith, 78, of Cochran, who died Saturday, February 6, 201 at Serenity Place in Dublin, will be held Saturday, February 13, 2016 at 2:00-4:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Fisher Funeral Home. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery. A lifelong resident of Cochran, Virginia was the daughter of the late Cpl. Wadsworth Lee Stephens, Jr. and Letty Grace Ries Stephens Beck. She was a graduate of Cochran High School Class of 1954, and worked at both L&H Shirt Company and JacArts. She was of Methodist faith. She was preceded in death by her brother, Louis William Stephens, sister, Ella Grace Stephens, and stepson, Mark Smith. Survivors include her daughters, Sue Reeves Lord of Cochran and Ree (J.C.) Reeves Hadden of Hawkinsville; grandson, Jay Hadden of Hawkinsville; granddaughter, Jami (Matthew) Bowen of Bluffton, SC; great-grandchildren, Elizabeth Kate Bowen and Cole Bowen both of Bluffton, SC; and stepchildren, Terry Smith of Mableton, and Susan Akins of Atlanta. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Serenity Hospice, 510 Bellevue Avenue, Dublin Georgia 31021. Fisher Funeral Home of Cochran has charge of arrangements.
